For 14-year-old Sam, biking isn’t just a hobby, it’s a vital part of his well-being. Living with autism, OCD, and severe anxiety, Sam has found cycling to be a soothing and grounding therapy that helps him self-regulate and experience independence. Being out in nature brings him immense joy and a sense of calm.

However, Sam’s old second-hand bike, without pedal assist or suspension, limited him to flat terrain and prevented him from fully exploring the trails he loves.

Support from Fund for Good

Through Fund for Good, Sam received a Trek Rail 5, Gen3 electric mountain bike. With its pedal assist and full suspension, the new bike allows him to ride on hillier terrain and take on more adventurous trails.

Sam has already picked up his new bike and is loving it. He now spends every weekend in the forest with his dad, exploring nature. Sam is also taking mountain biking lessons, to help him build his skills and confidence.

The new bike is helping Sam fully embrace his love for biking, allowing him to experience independence and continue his journey of self-regulation and well-being. His family is thrilled to see how much joy and benefit it has already brought him.
